Terms of Service

The rules for using Switchyard: the website, the dashboard, your keys and your wallet.

Effective date: 6 October 2026

Who we are

Switchyard is run by the Switchyard team. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Switchyard" mean the team that runs it. "You" means the person, or the organization, that uses the service.

Accepting these terms

By using the website, the dashboard or the API, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Switchyard.

If you use Switchyard for an organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live.

Workspaces and API keys

Signing in creates a workspace. Your workspace holds your API keys and, if you link one, your wallet address.

  • Each API key is shown once, when it is created. We store only a hash of it, so we cannot show it to you again or recover it.
  • Keep your keys secret. Anyone who has a key can use your workspace, and you are responsible for what happens with it.
  • If a key leaks, revoke it from the dashboard and create a new one.
  • Without a linked wallet, an API key is the only way back into a workspace. If you lose every key, we cannot restore access.

Wallet sign-in

You can sign in with a Solana wallet. To do that, you sign a message that proves you control the address. Signing the message sends no transaction and costs no fee.

  • We never ask for your seed phrase or private key. Anyone who does is not us.
  • You are responsible for your wallet: its security, its backups and everything it signs.
  • We cannot recover a wallet, reverse a transaction or restore access to an address you no longer control.

The $YARD token

$YARD is a utility token on Solana. Its only purpose on Switchyard is to pay for compute: Yard engine usage and the paid upgrades listed on the site. $YARD has not launched yet. Until it does, nothing on Switchyard can be paid for with it.

  • Burns are final. When you burn $YARD for credit, the burn happens on-chain and cannot be undone by you or by us.
  • Each burn becomes credit on your workspace at the rate shown in the dashboard at the time of the burn.
  • Credit has no cash value. It is non-refundable and non-transferable. It cannot be moved to another workspace or person, or exchanged back for tokens or money.
  • $YARD is not an investment. We make no promise about its value, price, liquidity or future, and you should not acquire it expecting a profit.
  • We may change credit rates, prices and what credit buys. Changes apply to future burns and future usage.
  • You are responsible for the tax and legal rules that apply to you where you live, including any that apply to holding, buying or burning $YARD.
  • $YARD is not offered where it is prohibited. Do not use it if the law where you live forbids it, or if you are subject to sanctions that forbid it.

Acceptable use

Use Switchyard for lawful work. You must not:

  • Use it to create, store or send illegal content, or to break the law in any other way.
  • Use it to harass, defraud or harm anyone.
  • Try to get around rate limits, budgets, credit or access controls.
  • Probe, scan or test the security of Switchyard, or try to access workspaces, keys or data that are not yours.
  • Overload, disrupt or interfere with the service or other users.

Model providers have their own usage policies. When your request reaches a provider, its policy applies too.

Model providers and your provider keys

Switchyard sends requests to third-party model providers. We do not control their models, their outputs, their availability or their prices.

  • If you add your own provider keys, the provider's terms and policies apply to that use, and the provider bills you directly.
  • You must have the right to use any provider key you add.
  • Model outputs can be wrong. Check them before you rely on them.

Availability and changes

Switchyard is provided "as is" and "as available". Features may change, may be unavailable for a time, or may be discontinued. Prices and limits shown on the site may change.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend a workspace, revoke its keys or close it if you break these terms, if it is needed to protect the service or other users, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.

You can stop using Switchyard at any time. Unused credit is not refunded when a workspace is closed, unless the law requires it.

Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about Switchyard, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any model output is accurate.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under laws that cannot be excluded by contract.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or tokens. Our total liability for any claim about Switchyard is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event that caused the claim.

These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version always lives on this page with its effective date. For significant changes, we will give notice on the site or in the dashboard before they take effect. If you keep using Switchyard after that, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
